Hello, Lady Mine

from Ghosts of Shepherdstown by Ron Brunk

/

about

Another song I wrote long ago, at age 15. I performed it back then with a good friend who has since passed away. Just like the song describes. Very sad. I dedicate this song to Terry.

lyrics

HELLO, LADY MINE
© Ron Brunk Publishing

Hello, lady mine
I’m afraid that it’s time
I must say goodbye to you
We shared so much good
And I knew that we would
But my time here is through

Will you remember me?
And think tenderly
Of what we had?
Please don’t feel bad
It’s time to die
Will you pray for me?......goodbye

Hello, sky and rain
Though you will remain
I must leave you now
Never to see or feel again
The morning dew or summer wind
Softly upon my brow

CHORUS 1

Hello, mother earth
Sweet place of my birth
You know I must depart
I’ll love you always though
I’m sure that you know
With all of my heart, with all my heart

CHORUS 1

Somewhere beyond the blue
I promise to wait for you
So please don’t be sad
Think of what we’ll have
My time is through
But I will wait for you
