Fading Day

from Ghosts of Shepherdstown by Ron Brunk

/

about

I wrote this way back when I was just a wee lad, at the age of 15. It shows, but I like it just the same. It's a personal fave that I decided to include here.

lyrics

FADING DAY
© Ron Brunk Publishing

Did you think I would not remember you?
Did you think I would not remember to
Ask you to stay?

Did you have in your mind the thought of retreat?
Did you think you could just hand me defeat
And ride….ride into the fading day?

They say that in the end, it’s gonna end
But I believe that broken hearts will mend
And something in your eyes
Tells me I can call you my friend

Life is so strange, you live till you die
There was a time that I thought that I
Would always, always want to be alone

But when I look in your eyes I see a sunny day
When I look in your eyes I just want to stay
With you….because your heart is my home
